  1. How are the abstracts selected for the Conference?
The Program Committee (Associate Professor Patrick Danaher, Debbie Orr, Dr Bobby Harreveld, Dr Patrick Keleher, Dr Bernadette Walker-Gibbs) will assess all abstracts in terms of their relationship to the Conference theme and sub themes.  If necessary, authors may be asked for more details regarding their abstract. An endeavour will be made to select abstracts on a variety of topics from speakers working in a range of areas.

  2. Whom do I contact for assistance in submitting my abstract?
All correspondence should be sent to the Conference Secretary.  Your query will be forwarded to the most appropriate person.

  3. When will I be notified about the success of my abstract?
The Conference Secretary will notify all authors about their abstract by the end of September 2007.

  4. How much time will I have to write my paper?
The final date for the submission of papers is 29 February 2008.  This date sounds early but it allows time for refereeing and changes to papers as a result of refereeing.

  5. When do I need to provide the additional information such as presenter's information form and Copyright form?
You do not need to submit the presenter's information form or the copyright form until your paper has been through the peer-review process and accepted. The forms will be available from 4th April 2008.

  6. How many referees consider each paper?
At least two referees consider each paper and the process is ‘double blind’.  The referees recommend whether or not revisions to the paper are necessary and whether or not the paper should be published in the Conference Proceedings. Members of the Program Committee consider the recommendations from the referees and reserve the right to make the final decision.  At all times feedback from the referees and the Program Committee will be provided to authors.

  7. Who are the referees for the conference?
Referees are drawn from the Australian and international academic community and represent a cross-section of disciplines and specialisations in relation to lifelong learning. They meet the requirements set by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) for publications to be recognised as fully refereed.

  10. Will presentations of non-refereed papers be made available to an audience wider than the Conference attendees?

  11. Will the Conference Proceedings be made available to an audience wider than the Conference attendees?

  13. Who owns the copyright for the Conference?
