Scholarship
This year the Conference organisers invited authors from Developing Countries to apply for a scholarship to attend the conference.
The scholarship covers:
- Conference registration fee,
- accommodation in a twin share room for the duration of the Conference,
- meals for the duration of the Conference,
- and A$2000 towards other expenses.
To be considered for the scholarship authors should:
- reside in a country listed as a Developing Country by ISI (http://isi.cbs.nl/tinbergen/developing.htm),
- have an abstract approved by the Program Committee by 24 September 2007,
- submit a letter of application with a brief accompanying statement by 1 April 2008,
- have a refereed paper approved by the Program Committee for publication in the Conference Proceedings by 28 April 2008.
The successful paper will:
- be highly relevant to the Conference theme,
- have appeal to an international audience,
- follow the template and guidelines provided for the submission of papers,
- be accompanied by a statement explaining how the recipient will disseminate the conference discussions and papers to relevant stakeholders in his/her country.
The decision about the award of the scholarship was made by the Program Committee.
Best Paper/s
The Editors have announced that there will be a prize for the best paper. The selection criteria is:
- Paper/s perceived to be of general appeal to the majority of delegates
- Paper/s rated by the referees as exceptional in the majority of areas
- Paper/s submitted in the format outlined by the editorial board
- Paper/s judged by the Conference Editors as making a significant contribution to lifelong learning research and scholarship
