Rydges Capricorn Resort

Just 45 km from Rockhampton, right on the Tropic of Capricorn at Yeppoon in Cental Queensland, this integrated resort facility is located where an alluring stretch of coral reef coastline meets wetlands and rainforest. The surrounding unspoilt bush and wetlands are home to some of Australia's most beautiful and rare bird life and wildlife.

The region enjoys warm weather year round, so a swimsuit, hat and sunscreen are essential. The daytime temperatures in Summer average around 31°C (86°F) with a Winter average of 23°C (72°F). Night-time temperatures in Winter can drop to 9°C (50°F) so take a warm top for when you venture outdoors. The average temperature ranges in June are 22°C (72°F) /24°C (76°F) - 10°C (49°F) / 12°C (53°F).

The three accommodation buildings encircle one of the largest fresh water pools in the South Pacific. A variety of accommodation types include the following standard features:

Golf courses
The two courses at Rydges Capricorn International are of World-Class standard and they cater for a wide range of golfing play. Discounted rates apply to delegates attending the conference.

Free Activities
There are over 25 free activities to enjoy during your holiday. The Resort hosts one of the largest freshwater pools in the South Pacific with heated adjoining beach pool, nature walking and gymnasium. On 20 klm of beach, guests can enjoy sand sailers, catamarans, windsurfing, surf skis, and boogie boards.

Wetlands Tour
This extraordinary tour rediscovers the wilderness area of the Resort's 22,000 acres (8,903 hectares) every day. Learn about bush tucker, aboriginal history and find yourself amidst the 150 species of Australian birds on the wetlands.
 

Travel
Rockhampton is the closest city (45 km from resort) and is serviced by the major domestic and regional airlines. Average flying time from Brisbane Queensland's state capital, is 55 minutes, Sydney is 2 hours and Melbourne is 3 hours.

Delegates are offered complimentary pick-up service from Rockhampton and return whether you travel by air, rail or coach. The Resort will provide full accommodation and catering for participants.
